About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very interested in applying for the role of Junior Designer/ Animator as advertised by Fishfinger Creative Agency. Knowing the reputation that Fishfinger holds for award winning creative design for a variety of media, I am very keen to work for such a successful company.

I have finished studying my final year of BA (Hons) Animation at Staffordshire University, and graduated on 18th July 2014 with a 2:1 degree. Since leaving university, I have done creative work for a variety of clients, and I am now looking for full time work that will complement my previous experience. I will be able to start work immediately upon successful interview and will be able to relocate closer to the studio if necessary.

If provided the opportunity to work for Fishfinger, I would aim to uphold the company's values of teamwork and professionalism. In my past studies, I have learnt many important art and design skills; this includes utilising software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), Adobe After Effects and Flash, solid drawing of characters and props, and creating artwork for digital/print content within specific requirements.

I am very motivated towards a career within the art and design industry, and feel that working for Fishfinger will help me fulfil this. I have done work experience for a variety of clients on both a national and international level, assisting with creative design work for organisations such as The Red Panda Trust, Carse and Waterman Productions and Social Enterprise West Midlands. I have also done various volunteering placements at Bristol Encounters Film Festival 2014, Appetite Stoke and the London 2012 Olympics. It was through these companies that I learnt the importance of time management, problem solving and working as a team.

My natural interest in the creative industry also extends into my spare time, having been to numerous art and design festivals such as FMX 2014 in Stuttgart and Bradford Animation Festival. It was at these festivals I attended lectures with other professional studios such as Dreamworks, Aardman and Disney. I also follow Fishfinger's work very closely, having viewed various graphic design work by the company; this includes the concept design and illustrations created for the 'Penguini' App and various character and environment concept art. I believe my high interest in Fishfinger and my various other art and design interests will let me fully commit to the role of Junior Designer/ Animator.
