About me
I am looking for print-based production work in and around London. I have six years of experience in the media. From I worked as a subeditor on a newspapers, websites and magazines in Bangkok, Thailand. Then from I was a Mac Operator for Auto Exchange magazines in Harlow, Essex. I used QuarkXpress to update, create and redesign advertisements for five weekly editions of this car magazine. I downloaded images and content from client websites, retouched and resized images in Photoshop, and recreated company logos using Photoshop and Illustrator. There was a strong typesetting component to the work as well as lots of typing and proofreading. I laid up the magazines, converted files into PDFs using Acrobat Distiller, and sent files to the printers over the server. I also had to liaise with printers, clients and sales reps to chase copy and solve any production issues.
I have a post-graduate diploma in Print Journalism, have completed courses in Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop from the London College of Printing, and possess a sound grasp of InDesign. I am also nearing the successful completion of a Certificate in News Journalsim from the NCTJ.
My production closed at the end of 2006 and I am available for immediate employment.
