About me
Key to my work has always been a commitment to knowledge and to finding new attention-gripping ways of bringing my findings to life. I believe that in order to empower people you have to make this sea of data available to us useful and attractive; information is unimportant unless it transforms into knowledge.
I believe growth is about knowledge and knowledge transfer, and presentations can be a very powerful and persuasive medium to pass on knowledge. But in order to do that, they have to engage with the audience and avoid the 'yawn factor'. In an ideas economy, which allows access to 'big data', I think we must challenge the conventional wisdom of making slide presentations.
With four years of experience as a researcher for think-tanks and in the advertising industry, I have always been interested in creative ways to convert information into distilled knowledge. My presentations draw upon neuroscience, learning studies, data visualization techniques, as I believe we must understand what people pay attention to, and why, in order to deliver meaningful information.
Presentations are not just about data, equally important is our ability to communicate our message. The ultimate purpose of any presentation, as well as of any tool or technology, is to ease communication. Therefore, I'm keen on observing how others are using the tools at hand, and taking note of best practices - such as presentations used at TED, or other creative events - so I can continuously improve my work. I see learning as a lifestyle and feedback crucial, so each new presentation can build upon the previous ones.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
