About me

Born in La Rioja (Spain), raised among vineyards and a family footwear industry background, I decided to move to London to improve my english and explore all the different possibilities within the design industry.

After discovering that design itself was such a wide field, I decided to move to Barcelona to study product design from an interdisciplinary point of view.

Product design it's a very comprehensive field that covers diverse areas where design could be applied.

My training and experience within this area have allowed me to apply a creative work methodology, where socio-political, environmental, industrial, visual, economic and market aspects come together for the formalization of the product.

During my career, I always had an interest to go into the world of backpacks and accessories design in parallel to my passion on hand-craft and artisans work, but somehow, I always felt a bit disconnected with the fashion industry, which always made me felt I couldn't be part of it.

Even so, after a few years of experience I felt empowered and motivated to apply my skills in new fields and projects and decided to move back to London.

In these years I have worked mostly in the footwear and backpacks sector where I have been able to go through all the project stages/phases; From running a small collection, managing the project, to developing and implementing product strategies on much bigger ones. Always looking for new ideas, taking-transfering the brand philosophy in every step, up to the marketing plan, to bring the product to market.

Product design and development management; They have been a key part of my career. Going through the research and selection of materials, choosing the highest quality finishes and the most appropriate processes and collaborating with suppliers to continue innovating in manufacturing.

I am an observant, resolute person with a multidisciplinary vision, where my passion about creating new products goes together with my socio-cultural and environmental values and worries, to basically create a positive impact in those fields.

And that's how I started to combine my design skills with being an educator, teaching how to make more sustainable and ethical products, reinforcing the word upcycle and equality in every lesson I do.
