About me

To Whom It May Concern:

I have recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a 2:1 Undergraduate Degree in Psychology BSc, and hope to pursue a career in communication within media. I have always had a passion for art and design and it was during my dissertation that I confirmed my desire to work within visual communication. My dissertation consisted of independent research into the use of visual rhetoric in print product advertisement. I designed a unique study template and after analysing the results, I found some very useful and interesting conclusions that can be applied to the realm of advertising design.

Last September I enrolled on a graphic design course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. During this intense 5 month course I expanded my design skills further and believe I now possess a much stronger understanding of graphic design.

In my spare time I write regularly for the web based magazine Disability horizons and the Jennifer Trust Charity quarterly magazine. Being a young disabled adult myself I enjoy sharing my experiences with others. In particular I often write and offer advise to others on the subject of travel for wheelchair users. My passion for travel and love of a challenge has resulted in me travelling to many destinations all over the world, including Thailand, Australia and Fiji. I was also recently involved in the organisation and promotion of a fashion show charity fundraiser for the Jennifer Trust, which was a great success and has now become an annual event.

I am a very motivated and hardworking individual and am looking forward to applying my skills to a working environment. I believe that I would be a great asset to a company, where I could work to the best of my ability and strive for success.
