About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

By way of introduction, my name is Amanda Richardson and I have recently graduated from a degree in Photographic Science. I have acquired a wealth of technical knowledge from my education and experience which I believe position myself as an ideal candidate for the role of Photo Editor.

I am proficient on Photoshop from CS through to CS5 on both Mac and PC platforms. Skills I can fulfill using the software include exposure and colour corrections, compositing, skin and portrait retouching, product and body warping using the Liquify tool and generating cut outs using the Pen Tool and Wacom graphics tablet. I have exercised these skills in recent projects and casual work for an online website, as well as at my current work placement, where I assisted the retouch team with a cut out job for an George's autumn/winter collection. I have excellent Lightroom skills and can perform numerous Photoshop tasks using the program. I have a good knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator. I have learnt a great deal about colour management and am able to calibrate monitors.

In addition to my computer skills, I have a good understanding of the business side of photography, such as picture libraries, syndication and copyright laws. I have experience in keywording, processing files and uploading to websites as well as how a picture database in maintained.

I am a hard-working, extremely organized and conscientious individual. I strive to perform my best in all the tasks I am given. I work well on my own initiative as well as within a team to reach a common goal.
