About me
I am a London freelance illustrator and artist who has always enjoyed nature and the environment which inspires her creativity, influencing her love of painting, writing illustrated children's books and her own style of botanical illustration. Amabel has had several commissions to paint houses in and out of London. She works in oils, watercolour, ink pen and Photoshop to create her designs and ideas.
Her love of botanical illustration is inspired by Marianne North and her patterns inspired by May Morris, both women of the 19th century who changed the world with their paintings and designs. Her love of children's book writing is inspired by Eric Carle and Dr Seuss for their use of vibrant colour and visual imagery. Amabel continues to develop her portfolio of work for commissions, competitions and exhibitions.
