About me
I edit multi-award winning documentary films for UK and US terrestrial channels and cinema. Strands include Storyville, Witness, Timewatch, Arena, Omnibus, Equinox, PBS Frontline, Passions + Imagine. My work includes twenty series plus over a hundred single documentaries in most genre—the arts, sciences, current affairs, as well as observational, history + archaeological films. Awards and nominations include a Bafta, 2x Griersons, 3x Emmies, 3x Montreal FIFAs, 2x RTS Indies, Focal, Rose D'Or, DuPont / Columbia Broadcast, CineGold, and NY + New Orleans Film + TV Festivals Awards.
I trained cutting pop promos, corporates and news packages on tape at ITN and other news outlets. Learned AVID in 1990 with Trevor Boden and Renee Edwards at the second Avid course at the National Film School's National Short Course Training Programme, and cut an independent film drama / musical with Frances Soloman and Ingrid Lewis, Long Memoried Woman, that won the New York Film Festival's 1990 Performance Category. Recommended by NSCTP's Dee Edwards, co-collaborator with Soloman and Lewis, to cut an arts programme for Omnibus with John Purdie, Who Killed Tchaikovsky.
