About me

Qualified in 1970 as a Compositor/Typesetter on a Lumitype Typesetting System. Left company to join a small firm concentrating on balance sheet work, stayed with them for 7 years working on a a monophoto typesetting machine.

Left this company and joined EAC Graphics who were the distributors for Compugraphic Typesetting equipment and spent the next 13 years as an Instructor teaching customers how to use the equipment.

Left this company in 1980 to start my own business doing typesetting and running a bureau using an Agfa Imagesetter with Apple Mac equipment. My work varied from b/cards to school books, buyers guides up to 1000 pages in full colour, newsletters and balance sheets of all descriptions.

I do most of my setting using QuarkXpress/Freehand and photoshop for scanning and retouching.

The reason for me looking for a job in the UK is that my son and daughter have emigrated and my wife and I would like to be closer to the children.
