About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a graduate with a degree in Computer Multimedia Technology & Design at the University of Kent and I am looking for a challenging and exciting role for my graduate job. I have seen the position of Graphics Designer advertised and would like to apply for this role. I have enclosed my CV for your consideration.

The role particularly appeals to me as I feel it would enable me to utilise my skills in both Designing and Technical roles. Furthermore I would love to have the opportunity to work in an environment that would challenge me and enable me to consolidate my academic learning. This, along with complementing my retail skills with working with people would be an excellent opportunity and one that I would whole-heartedly commit to.

Previous experience in both my personal and academic endeavours has taught me a lot about the as well as vital skills needed to succeed in a professional environment. My part-time work in Currys was very focused on customer satisfaction; I had a lot of experience in dealing with customer queries face-to-face. This gave me a lot of awareness about what customers needed and wanted. I also learnt how to think on my feet and analyse a situation though dealing with consumer conflicts. This experience is also found in my recent job in B&Q, while working with customers I deal with kitchen and bathroom enquiries. With my role detail is a major aspect especially when customers bring measurements of room sizes, making sure certain items are able to fit in the room and different possibilities that can be used to find the best solution. With that, I deal with customer problems when items are missing from deliveries which involve calling various departments to solve the situation.

The main reason of why I am very interested in this opportunity is the chance to work in an important industry with the chance to build a rapport with customers as well as access to different areas of the business. From previous personal and academic projects I have learnt a lot about technology and the innovation involved in making it better for the user. I have been involved in making Portfolios, E-Commerce sites, filming and editing footage. These projects involved me working with others as well as working by myself. Therefore I needed a passion for technology, a drive to succeed and innovation as I was regularly needed to improve my work and create new solutions to technological problems that previous versions of my work had.

I trust that I have been able to convey my interest in this role and I look forward to being able to demonstrate this further in an interview.

Yours sincerely

Allan Opio
