About me

My name is Alison van Schoor and I am writing to you as I would like to work in your company and the vacant position seems perfectly matched to my personal and professional capabilities.

I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash). Through my recent work I have become skilled at hand coding HTML and CSS, abiding by web standards for accessibility and usability as well as keeping up to date by working with emerging technologies such as HTML 5 and CSS3 . I also have basic knowledge of development languages such as Javascript (mainly JQuery) and PHP along with experience with Content Management Systems (Drupal 7).

I love web design, seeing the project through from a concept to an actual design (psd) and then translating it into HTML and CSS. I like all aspects of this process but particularly enjoy the coding, trying out new means to make it look better, more interactive and more user friendly, I even enjoy the problems involved in making it WC3 friendly! I have recently been looking into HTML emails and creating CMS templates as well as brushing up my flash abilities but basically I enjoy every part of the process and take pride in learning new techniques all the time.

I enjoy working and interacting with other people, as well as using my own initiative when required and have a strong attention to detail.
