About me

I am currently a freelance Creative Director.

In my last recent role I was responsible for the On and off air branding and creative work at the BBC. This includes the over arching look and design of various TV Channels where I have worked mostly on promoting Comedy and Entertainment. Creating some of the best brands the BBC has.

And along the way winning some large re - brand Pitches in the case of BBC Three. When I first started working on the channel, I worked with Lambie- Nairn to creatively develop "the Blobs." Which went on to win a D&AD Gold. And when that identity was re - branded I led the team that created the current on air brand.

Working on these genres has been fantastic. A sense of fun and a need to entertain have been really important. And coming from an agency background Creative ideas are still the most important thing and at the heart of my work.

Ive also branded CBeebies and CBBC, as well as CD ing and working with my old company's in house designers and Nexus Animation for the BBC Three re-brand. I have also worked on the much loved BBC 2 idents.

As you can see from my link above, I feel my own strong creative work allows me to be hands on in my role as Creative Director. Im very used to brainstorming in groups, motivating teams and pulling the best creatively out of them. I have over 15 years experience and I have a very strategic brain. Often working with clients and planners to refine and develop creative briefs and see that project

through to the finished product and delivering on budget.

I have pitched to some very high profile clients and winning the BBC Three re-brand against Advertising agency Fallon, was a real high. This multi- platform project won numerous awards and delivered a 27% rise in audience share for the channel.

I am now looking for a new freelance challenge and opportunities. I do hope to hear from you.

Yours sincerely

Alison King
