Re: FMCG Design Director
Job Ref: KAT/EN/JN
Dear Sir / Madam,
I found the opportunity posted online at Creativepool website, it is suitable to my profile. Please consider my email as formal request.
I am a design professional with experience of over ten years working at various design firms. Although majority of the experience lies in packaging discipline, I also have delved myself into retail, corporate and consumer communications and some electronic media experiences. Having such diverse experience provided me the confidence, sense of direction and of course management skills.
The last few years were certainly catalyst in exponential growth of my career; I became involved in design research, strategy development and design direction phases predominantly. First with the MNA Creative, I developed the packaging and retail programs for Office Depot and Weis Market private label brands. Q-Tip brand was one of the other important projects I have undertaken at MNA Creative, I liaised in the research and the strategy phases and later conceptualized and directed the design team for the structural development of the Q-Tips packaging. Having a proven skill set, I moved further to work at Landor and LAM Design in strategic design consultation roles. I have provided expertise in research, strategy phases of Duracell global rebranding at LAM Design and worked in research, strategy and design phases for Keurig Coffee Makers and Bayer Aspirin global rebranding projects at Landor. My most recent work involved in developing strategic insights and brand qualitative testing for one of the Coca Cola coffee brand for retail expansion. The other describables are packaging development for a line of disposable kitchenware for Canadian market and branding strategy, project management and design direction for 10 Peaks, a line of winter sports gloves, for its entry into European market.
In response to the listed pre-requisites for the opportunity, I have experience in all three areas: project management, hybrid work process and knowledge-experience loop. I have taken interest in project management earlier in my career at LOGOSBRANDS. After reaching to the seniority level, I worked with account team developing CPM, timelines, budgetary predictions etc. At MNA Creative, I carried on management responsibilities at larger scope. And now it has become even more critical with time as I started working with CPG companies directly as part of my personal consultation venture: MVX. To reciprocate the hybrid role expertise, I have been in dual mode for almost 5 years where I am required to provide design direction on projects while being hands-on in them. At LOGOSBRANDS and subsequently at MNA Creative, I used to mentor my team members for the questions ranges from their career development to design process to printing techniques. Also at MNA Creative, I have led the project presentations and client liaison efforts. To answer the query for the knowledge-experience cycle, my commitment can be seen from my current learning activities: I have enrolled for Project Management Certification with PMI Institute. Print management is another area of my interest, to further my technical knowledge of print processes and technologies, I am preparing for the Certified Packaging Professional exams with IOPP. It is a win-win situation for myself and for the organizations, I am associated with, to provide them the best solutions and the best experience for myself respectively. It would also be worth mentioning that I have advanced understanding of packaging regulations and strong grasp on printing and manufacturing processes.
To conclude, I will bring my creativity, project management skills, print and production expertise and more importantly ingenuity, work ethics and innovative thinking if given a chance.
Sincerely,
[Signed]
