About me

Alex Naghavi is an award-winning Creative Director, AI filmmaker, and founder with over 18 years of experience shaping the intersection of design, technology, and storytelling. Currently Creative Director at Block, she leads creative exploration in AI and open-source design—pushing the boundaries of how technology can amplify human imagination and make creativity more open and accessible.

Driven by a belief that curiosity can create change, Alex is part of a growing movement to redefine female representation in AI. She is breaking barriers and inspiring both peers and emerging creatives to harness these tools fearlessly and ethically. Alongside her work as a creative leader, she recently launched a sponsorship-mentorship initiative designed to directly support emerging creatives—offering $3,000 in funding, one-on-one coaching, and access to her global creative network. Ranked among the Top 100 Graphic Design Mentors on ADPList, she has contributed over 3,000 minutes across 100+ sessions, helping designers and technologists build confidence, taste, and creative agency in a fast-changing landscape. She has spoken at platforms such as House of gAI, VidCon, and Block's BxB conference (in front of 8,000 people), sharing practical perspectives on AI, taste, and creativity—and encouraging others to approach technology with both curiosity and care.

Her work has been recognized by D&AD, Webby Awards, ADC Awards, SXSW Innovation Awards, Good Design Awards, and AGDA Awards, and featured in Variety, Forbes, The Dieline, Campaign Brief, and The Brand Identity, just to name a few. A former Executive Creative Director and Partner at global design and venture studio Josephmark, she has helped define the visual language for global brands like Google, Spotify, Sony, Redbull, RCA Records, and AMC—alongside cultural icons including Bruce Springsteen, Portia de Rossi, and Elvis. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in ventures later acquired by Twitter (We Are Hunted) and Microsoft (Clipchamp). She has served as a judge for the ADC Awards (first AI category), Awwwards, Webby Awards, and the Leonardo AI Imagination Fund—shaping global standards for creativity and innovation.

Her recent work explores the emerging language of AI-driven cinema. Her films *Railbound*, *Gentle*, and *Feast* have received multiple international awards, including Best Film and Best Director, with Gentle recognized by filmmaker George Miller at the OMNI Awards. She was named one of the Top 50 Women AI Artists globally, won the Runway Gen:48 People's Choice Honouree Award, and was selected as one of ten global artists for Google Flow Sessions, an experimental residency exploring the future of filmmaking with generative tools. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Zurich and Tokyo, and screened and awarded at festivals across Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, London, and Cannes.

As founder of Seamless Studio—an AI-powered design platform that amassed a 6,000+ waitlist ahead of its launch—Alex is reimagining creative tools that bridge craft and computation.
Restlessly curious and future-focused, Alex embodies what it means to create, explore, make, and build—transforming curiosity into impact at the edge of art, design, and innovation.

Alex is a first-generation Australian of Persian and Dutch heritage.
