About me

My name is Alexei Awan, I am a creative and enthusiastic Art Director who has recently moved back to London after spending the last couple of years working in Melbourne, where I was working with Publicis Australia. I'm a mid-weight level Art Director looking for positions that will enable me to progress myself.

I've spent the last 6 years working in creative, on campaigns from initial idea to finished art, retouching, illustration and even animation. Working mainly across integrated campaigns, I work in practically every channel from TV, Direct Marketing, Outdoor and Press to Social, Content and Online. With strong experience on still and TV shoots and I really champion craft in my work.

I have great experience in dealing with big brands and adhering to brand guidelines. Having also created numerous brands and compiled brand guidelines. A recent example of this would be my working relationship with the ANZ Bank (basically Aussie version of Barclays Bank) brand manager, where my concepts pushed and helped evolve their guidelines. I was a brand guardian for this client throughout Publicis Australia.

I worked with creative teams throughout the Australian Publicis network and managed integrated projects with the Brisbane based studio from start to finish. Whilst at Publicis Australia, I was part of their Future Leaders Program, gaining an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management. I have also tutored evening classes for young creatives looking to break into the advertising industry, these are nationally recognised courses - AWARD School and ADMA Creative School.

I can take and give direction constructively, and thrive working in a collaborative environment. I can write conceptual copy, building presentations and making ideas sellable. Further to this I completed the Melbourne Copy School short course in 2015.
