About me

Alexander Kalchev is the Co-CEO and CCO of BBDO Paris, where he oversees a variety of brands such as Volkswagen, McDonalds, Salomon, Aperol, TAG Heuer, UNESCO and Amnesty International among others.

Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, Alexander joined DDB Paris (now BBDO Paris) right after his graduation. In 2011 he was profiled in Creativity's "Creatives to Know" and in 2014 he was chosen as one of the ADC New York's Young Guns 12 class. At just 29, he became the youngest Chief Creative Officer in the history of the agency.

Since taking over the creative leadership of DDB Paris (now BBDO Paris), the agency has been named five times Agency of the Year in France with Alexander becoming the only foreigner to win five times Creative Director of the Year.

Under Alexander's leadership, his teams have won over 50 Lions in Cannes, ADC NY and One Show Golds, multiple Eurobest Grand Prix, D&AD Yellow Pencils, and shiny trinkets from all other major advertising festivals. "The Centaur" for Honda - the first film he directed himself - was awarded a silver film lion in Cannes.

He respects good, honest work that speaks for itself.
