About me

Alex Ramsey brings breathtaking vision to his work with a mix of surreal visual dreamscapes and raw vérité scenes that bring the human condition to light in a vivid hyperreality.

Alex started his career while still in high school, making experimental films out of his home town, Seattle. From his early filmmaking pursuits, he found his way to the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in LA and then to New York City, where he cut his teeth as an editor.

After finding his style in the trenches of many music videos, commercials and documentaries, Alex directed 'Tracing Light', an award- winning documentary short about two installation artists who highlight the beauty in our everyday surroundings. 'Tracing Light' won a Vimeo Staff Pick, was featured at the prestigious New York Indie Doc Fest, Directors Notes, and the Awards, and was acquired by XTR to become a permanent fixture on their platform, Documentary+.

Numerous award-winning short films later, Alex is now focusing his energy on commercials and long form narrative work.

Alex splits his time between London and New York and is currently in production on a multi-year feature documentary about New York City Ballet's, Tiler Peck, executive produced by Sarah Jessica Parker.
