About me
My work is predominantly Web based and, at the moment, I tend to do
a lot of development, although I have experience with Print design,
Video production and Animation. Everything kind of makes it's way to
the internet anyway. I like to experiment with varying processes, using
systems to create work and I try not to limit myself to any particular
medium. I like messing about with all sorts of things basically.
I have found the web to be an area where my education, skills and
passions really meet. I have always been into programming, messing
around with C as a teenager, and this combines with a love of Graphic
Design and its education to MA level. I began freelancing in April 2006
when teaching creative software in graphics and moving image at Leeds
Met Uni. In October 2009, I took freelancing full time and left Leeds
to move back to London.
I am mainly a front-end designer and developer, working in AS3
Flash/Flex, (X)HTML, CSS JS (with jQuery) although I do have quite a
bit of experience with PHP and MySQL, including content management
systems (CMS) and AMFPHP remoting for Flash/Flex. I've also worked on
projects in Java for Android and some Objective-C for iPhone. In my
spare time I like to mess about with OpenGL and Processing.
At the start of 2010 I was accepted as a member of Adobe's
prerelease programmes for Flash CS5, Flash Builder 4.0 and the AIR 2.0
SDK. Through this I built an AS3 iPhone app, which was accepted into
the appstore and which I have since ported to run in the beta version
of the Air runtime for Android.
