About me
To whom it may concern,
I was excited to find an ad that so perfectly matches my skills and career ambitions. Previously I have worked as an intern at Gloc Media where my position was SEO consultant. My duties involved adopting SEO techniques to promote the company, networking with influential bloggers, updating Gloc Media's Twitter account and writing long and short copy for a variety of clients. I have exceptional written and grammatical skills and found the copywriter side of the role to be the most rewarding. I had to adapt my tone to suit the needs of each client. I enjoyed the freedom this gave me as I could adapt my voice from business-minded to comical to sales-orientated to informative.
The internship also taught me about the importance of a social media campaign and I learned how to write social media updates in a way that would promote the company in the best possible light.
During the internship I managed to reach all of my targets, work successfully with a variety of people and increase the number of Twitter followers on the company account. I have received a brilliant reference that I would be happy to send over.
After the internship I decided to enroll myself on a Creative Writing course on The Open University. I have completed the course and am halfway through a short story that I will enter into the Bristol Short Story competition.
My next goal is to write copy for a creative agency such as yours. Whilst I may not have the experience you are looking for, I have been writing my entire life and would be eager to undertake a copy test to show you proof of my abilities.
I am enthusiastic, hard working, open minded and possess a keen sense of humour. Having worked in retail for a good number of years, I pride myself on being a person who can work well with anyone. I am a fast learner but am also communicative.
I would be extremely grateful if you would take the time to look through my CV and consider my application.
Kind regards,
Alex Pomeroy
