Why should we choose you

Through studying Digital Media Design at Bournemouth University I have been given the opportunity to expand my knowledge of design and been taught skills ranging from the Adobe creative suite to coding websites and adapting to a responsive layout.

Alongside my studies the University has appointed me Peer Assisted Learner (PAL) Leader, a role that facilitates and supports first years on the Digital Media Design course. This has enhanced my speaking and presentation skills with the experience of presenting in front of the entire media school (100+).

My confidence in design presentations and working on time driven team projects has developed significantly and my love for design and enthusiasm for the creative as never wavered. From what I have learnt at University and through the experiences I have had in my life I believe that your placement, as described, is perfect for me, and I would love to prove this to you by being given the opportunity at interview.

A client wants to run a mobile campaign in order to change the perception of a major oil company, from being seen as a traditional oil company, to being seen as a modern and innovative energy company.

Which concept would you come up with, and which formats would you choose

Considering that the design of the old company portrays a traditional fashion, I would consider a re-branding; nothing too substantial, but reconsidering the image of the company. Not to change the logo too much, but modernising through clean designs and simple colours, these being because the logo is the first thing and last thing people remember when it comes to image; the audience would recognise a change. When it comes to introducing the change I would consider an event that would act as a channel for the refresh advertised through videos and invitations, delivered and accessible through either a mobile application. The invitations would be designed with the purpose of showing a taster of the change in the company and the videos would be presented as trailers, as if created for an up coming film.
