About me

I graduated from Central St Martins with a BA (hons) in Graphic
Design. I've worked in fashion, branding, web design/programming,
publishing, book design/binding and shop design.

Over the last year, I have worked concurrently at two
design agencies in Fulham; Richard P Chapman Design Associates and
Connaught.

In this time I have gained significant experience in
developing corporate identities as well as branding and the design and
build of websites. My clients have been hugely varied, from small
business start-ups where there was no previous design and everything
has been created from scratch, and fledgling companies pitching for
financing, to NuBo, a large cosmetics brand sold exclusively in Harrods
and Selfridges.

Working in a small studio has meant I have been
encouraged to develop creative work on my own and use my initiative to
find interesting solutions to tricky briefs, which I have found very
rewarding, but now feel that it is time to gain further experience by
working as part of a team.

Amongst other things, I am interested in book design and
identy branding and have gained a huge amount of knowledge and
experience in various design disciplines over the last year.

I am always interested in trying and learning new things.
I am just completed a course in calligraphy and also in 2010 completed
a course in web programming/design. This has given me a good knowledge
of HTML and CSS as well as a basic knowledge of JavaScript and PHP.

As well as my design jobs I have a great interest in
bookbinding and paper. I work one day a week at Shepherd's Bookbinders
(formerly Falkiners Fine Papers) in Holborn. I now consider myself an
encyclopaedia on types of paper and the many construction methods!
