About me

My name is Alex Cicciu. I am 25 years old, I studied at Central Saint Martins (foundation) and then the London College of Printing (BA Hons GMD Design/Illustration).

Since graduating I've worked for a range of clients including Microsoft, Sony, Universal, Activision, and bands like Bring Me The Horizon and The King Blues, both two of the biggest bands on Myspace (third or fourth I believe). The video I worked on has had over four million views. I've done quite a variety of work in my freelance career, including websites, coding, illustration, 3D animation and set design, motion graphics, visual effects/grading, high-end Photoshop work, Illustrator and so on.

In my spare time I enjoy running my clothing label, under the name WeArePhi, which is an online tshirt business where all the designs are based on variants of the golden ratio and the divine proportions of Phi. In the first month alone I sold over 50 tshirts and there's a very good chance they'll be appearing on Channel 4 featured in the IT Crowd. Graham Linehan (creator of Father Ted) is a fan, he invited me to Pinewood for the filming.

The main packages I use are:

Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, 3dsmax and After Effects. The combination has been used from grading HD music videos all the way through to designing vector illustrations to send to screenprinters. In total I have about 8 years of experience as a graphic designer, and one year as a director on various projects, including my own businesses
