About me

Hello there!

My name is Alex and design/creativity is in my DNA! I have a passion for anything visual or artistic. My skills are in graphic design, web design and digital marketing. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and taking my dogs for walks.

The start of my journey began when I studied Graphic Design at Runshaw College and gained a triple distinction star and experience using Adobe Suite and basic web design. Whilst at college, I spent 2 years studying Photography and Lens Based Media alongside Graphic Design. I also worked part-time as a family portrait photographer for a company called Pixifoto.

I then went on to study a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design at Uclan and gained a 2:1 (but I was only one mark off a 1:1). I got to work on several briefs including print design, web design, typography, illustration, branding and much more. Alongside my university briefs, I worked for the under-graduate design agency run by the University students called Pen and Pixel. I got the opportunity to work with clients such as Tesco, Home Truths Estate Agents, Runshaw College, Lancashire Police, YP Flying Group, Velo Bikes and more. I continue to work with many of these clients today.

When I graduated in May 2017 I went over to Thailand for 6 weeks to teach English in primary schools, this was a fantastic life experience. When I returned home I decided to go freelance, and I worked with lots of small business'. I then set up my own small business in July called Dare Bear, producing unique and rude greetings cards and alcohol bottle labels.

I then decided that I would like to learn more about marketing and web design. This led me to my current job - a Digital Marketing Assistant. In this role, I work within an outsource marketing team for several restaurants and hotels around the UK. My main duties of this job are WordPress website updates, email marketing on MailChimp, copywriting, social media management, marketing reports, analytics, paid ads and much more.
