With over four years of experience in press and PR, communications, copywriting and proofreading, administration and language tuition, I would be the ideal candidate for this position.

I am a highly effective and lucid communicator, as reflected by my work experience, academic achievements and personal drives and ambitions. I have over four years of experience in a variety of roles that not only demonstrate my ability to adapt to changing and challenging environments, but mainly my ability to communicate ideas and strategy clearly and efficiently.

As Press and PR officer I have been responsible for co-ordinating the media and marketing strategy of ACM, as well as identifying and researching trends within education and the music industry. I have also been responsible for maintaining meaningful and effective relationships with media partners and businesses. I enjoy communicating with people, so I take great pleasure in being able to make connections that are mutually beneficial. At ACM I have been given the opportunity to do so, attending networking events and building up a portfolio of contacts, some of whom I know personally and have a great working relationship with, such as those at Music Week, PSN Europe, and many local Guildford outlets.

My previous experience in language tuition and administration has been incredibly beneficial to me. Teaching a language abroad helped me hone my skills as an educator, but also in communicating ideas simply and effectively. Similarly, my work as an office administrator for CM Group has given me a greater understanding of digital media and communication technologies. While working for CM Group I was responsible for building online tutorials for Microsoft Office applications. The role required precise attention to detail in literacy, numeracy, proofreading and copy-editing but also, and perhaps most importantly, working in a team in a target-driven environment.

I am educated to a Masters degree level in English a I also hold a 2:1 in English Literature (BA Hons) from Cardiff University, and hold a TEFL language-teaching certificate at grade B. My academic achievements demonstrate my excellent level of competency in communication, literacy, and analysis.

I am aware and have a keen interest in the issues affecting the world at large. My work as an English tutor for recent immigrants to London meant that I played an active role in integration, but it also prompted me to take greater interest in social and political concerns of the city and its residents, new or established. I understand the important role the media plays, not only in this issue but many others.
