Re: The Position of QC Proofreader in the South East
I am applying for the position of QC Proofreader which is currently being advertised on your website.
I would like to highlight the following positive attributes about myself:
- I am highly organised.
- I am passionate about everything that I do.
- I have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Most of all, I pay great attention to detail.
I could not help but notice the mistakes that were deliberately placed in the advert. I will highlight these here:
"(I am) (Please see * below) looking for an excellent quality controller who can ensure that only perfect work leaves this busy studio.
The company is very well (know) known and a market leader in its field and offers a great environment to work in.
The quality controller will check varied marketing collateral including press, direct mail, point of sale, emails and display advertising for this great company. (You) (Either start the previous sentence with "As a quality controller, you will.." and keep this "You"; or change this "You" to "They") will check that the content (as well as the layout of the work) is correct (as well as the layout - remove this); and (the) branding fits within the guidelines and meets the high standards that are demanded by the client(s) (assuming there are more than one client).
The quality controller will need to have strong experience of working within a similar QC or (proof reading) proofreading role. (You) They will be (hard working) hard-working and motivated, with an exceptionally good eye for detail.
