Hi,

My name is Alex Barnett, I am passionate and qualified in video editing and the post-production industry making me a valuable candidate for a position in video editing, producing or filming (videography). I would be a key component to your team in expanding business and gaining more viewership or discoverability.

Throughout my career, I've had many experiences in video production, specifically for my two YouTube channels, a travel channel named 'The Last of the Geojites' which focuses on me traversing the mountains of South Korea as I document the beauty and accessibility of the landscape. I also have a show reel channel named 'Alexander Barnett', that showcases recent projects unaffiliated with hiking in the outdoors.

These two channels have helped me solidify my techniques and knowledge of film-making and have given me a lot of insight into how to make successful video content either as a short or a long production. I am in love with the process from scouting locations, preparing finances and logistics, setting up equipment , looking for content and b-roll, following the script or storyboard and taking all of this into post -production where the real magic happens. My workflow and assemblage of footage is probably my strong point when looking for suitable shots and easily disregarding anything that doesn't impact the viewer, in other words I have a 'thumb stopping' approach.

Developing these two channels and the experiences I have had, have led me to grow my skills that are directly related to this role in video production. Working for a company that is as passionate about this process as I am is a great opportunity to showcase my skills and be able to provide high-quality content reliably, efficiently, collaboratively and with the highest regard for time-management.

These are some of the skills I can bring to your company:

- Create creative content and strategies that will generate viewership / discoverability. Knowledgeable of data analysis, metadata and algorithms that promote online content successfully for a variety of platforms; YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

- Strong command of a variety of cameras, camera operation and equipment. Knowledgeable of how most cameras work, audio and lighting setups, as well as composing impactful shots.

- High knowledge of post-production specifically cutting raw footage, assembling, adding music, dubbing, visual effects, colour-grading, sound, and encoding in different formats.

- 3+ years of experience in video editing, Adobe Suite software and accompanying technologies. Primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro; other platforms including After Effects, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom and Photoshop.

- Exceptional eye for detail and what is aesthetically engaging. Graduated with Bachelors in Fine Art with 20 years of experience as a Fine Artist completing numerous successful commissions with a strong understanding of client's expectations and desires.

- Highly communicative with a love for collaboration. Seeking advice, relating ideas as well as critiquing work in a respectful and proactive way are my forte and absolute joy. Communication is a vital key during the post-production process.

- Adaptability, openness to new ideas and execution of new strategies. Various experiences in many forms of videography enable me to be a highly proactive and efficient creator.
