Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find attached my CV in consideration for the role of copywriter at shop direct. I currently work as a sales assistant in Liverpool's city centre in a well known clothing retail store, and all together, I have almost four years retail experience. Due to this, I am aware of the importance that exceptional product knowledge can give to a business, and getting that information across to the customer in a variety of different ways. I have experience with target based sales; in my current job, we are given a random item or line of clothing to promote weekly, so communicating each line or items USP's to the customers is very important, both so that the customer can make an informed decision, and also, more importantly to ensure that they do make a purchase.
I am educated to a degree level, so my written and verbal communication skills are quite high. I have written many essays and been graded highly on them, as well as more recently writing blogs for a local community run cinema.
I consider myself to be very hard working and reliable, and will always put 100% into any task I am given. I am very thorough in my work, and quite analytical in the sense that I can take a step back from a situation and analyse the different options available to me before making an informed decision. I can listen very well and I am very open to other people's opinions and ideas. I am a confident person who can voice my own opinions and get my own ideas across if needs be. I am punctual and have a good record of attendance. I am always eager to better myself and learn new skills.
