About me

I'm an English Literature graduate from York St. John University with a 2:1 BA Honours, and a freelance writer. My internships include an editorial placement at a Manchester magazine called VIVA, in which I did four weeks of writing for both their website and their August printed issue. It was a great experience, especially because I got to interview Ellie Goulding and write up her cover story. Subsequently, Ellie Goulding tweeted about our conversation afterwards. I clearly made an impression! I interviewed many people for their website, both over the phone and in person. Along with transcribing and building the interview into a successful article, I found this was the most enjoyable aspect of this internship.

I have also written articles for an online magazine entitled One&Other, which is a lifestyle magazine based in York. This was a beneficial experience for me because they had begun to print their very first printed edition of their magazine during my time there. Therefore I learnt a lot about all of the hard work and effort that goes into producing a magazine from every aspect.

I completed a 2 week editorial online web internship at Esquire magazine that begun on the 5th of August 2013. I really enjoyed learning about what it takes to create a magazine as successful as Esquire and got to write a few features for their website including articles about men's fashion. I learnt about how to adapt my writing skills to fit varied audiences, particularly men. I gained valuable experience with uploading their content onto their website and IT skills. I was also put in charge of their phone and admin duties.

In December I finished a Fashion internship at BRIDES magazine, which I completed within one month. I assisted Lifestyle Stylist, Laura Burkitt on photoshoots as well as returns and call ins, craft features, and credits. Before that I covered Brighton Fashion Week which proceeded in October, on behalf of DASH magazine. In January I attended and blogged LCM for Noctis magazine, and I have just finished covering a few shows at London Fashion Week for The Daily Mail. See my review of PPQ's show here:

In February I completed a 2 week editorial internship with Dazed and Confused magazine, and I have just completed an editorial internship with ELLE magazine.
