About me
I have roughly three years of experience as a copywriter, working within a dynamic and fast-paced advertising environment. As my CV will show, my last job was within a contract publishing company that also ran a small advertising agency. This required me to perform a number of differing roles.
In the contract publishing aspect of the work I was required to liaise with the company's clients to determine what they wished to convey through a magazine we would publish for them. This included coming up with a communication strategy that would underlie the entire content of the publication. From there, I would (along with a team of three others) write articles, source pictures and oversee the layout of this magazine. The finished copy would then be presented to the client for approval.
The second aspect of my job was work more typical of a traditional copywriter. Since my last company also ran a consumer magazine where a lot of advertisers did not use independent advertising agencies, part of its business was in providing a typical advertising agency service. This meant that I was required to write advertising copy and work with a graphic designer to formulate a design concept. In the case of advertorials, much the same role applied.
Over and above all of this, I am not without some journalism experience and have also written many press releases. I have knowledge of Content Management Systems and am handy in InDesign and Photoshop with additional experience in Quark.
