About me

Hello, I'm Adza and I'm from Lagos, Nigeria but currently live in London.

I am a recent graduate of Design, Innovation and Creative Engineering (DICE) from Queen Mary University of London. As part of this degree, I have been able to consolidate my interests in art and technology, improving my making and coding skills through exciting and innovative projects. I would like the opportunity to enhance access to creativity for users through intuitive, eye-catching and informative designs, and I believe a role as a designer, particularly a graphic designer, will help me reach this goal.

My hobbies include making music and experimenting with different creative endeavors such as animation and 3D modelling. I enjoy playing with shapes, colour and texture, and have always had a strong interest in print based projects, particularly magazines, zines and t-shirts.

I am also interested in music and accessibility - my most recent project related to this interest is a musical device, which allows hobbyist musicians to make expressive pieces of music by seeing, feeling and hearing the sounds they produce with visual, haptic and aural feedback. I also enjoy going to museums and exhibits, cooking and spending time with my dog, Fubu.

I would describe myself as a creative and inquisitive individual - I like to understand how things work, and I will take things apart to deepen my understanding. I enjoy tinkering and I am happy to explore different perspectives and ideas, through collaboration, until I find a suitable solution to whatever problem I am tackling. I have strong attention to detail and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. I enjoy working in a team where I can develop ideas with other creative thinkers.

In terms of technical skills, I am experienced with Adobe Suite programs, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, and 3D modelling programs Blender and Autodesk Fusion 360. I enjoy working with creative programs and tend to pick them up quite quickly. I also have experience with coding languages, which allow for interactive designs and animations.

In the future, I would like to be able to foster a welcoming and collaborative environment for people often overlooked in STEM and hope to be able to pass on the skills and tools for them to become technically equipped designers or creatives in general.

Thank you for reading and looking at my portfolio. I hope to hear from you soon.
