About me

I'm Adam Stanley, a freelance copywriter and editor working out of greater London.

I recently completed five years as in-house senior copywriter and content editor at Dixons Carphone (Currys PC World). My experience centers on creating and editing user-oriented, SEO-optimised UX and editorial-style copy for website, social media, email campaigns and printed materials. I was also mentor and manager to the junior writers.

I developed brand and tone of voice guidelines that feed the in-house Dixons style, upholding their implementation in all content from my team. As content editor I'd meticulously ensure that each writer maintained a fluid style with high grammatical and technical accuracy.

As range change coordinator, I worked in tandem with commercial teams to ensure successful implementation of brand messaging and key tech highlights to unify the customer journey online, in-store and on other media platforms. This created a seamless feel that drove sales and enhanced brand perception.

I co-created and managed a large library of setup guidelines and spec-gathering documents to support range change - these served each product range on the Currys and PC World websites.

During my time at Buyagift I created SEO-optimised product page content and legal disclaimers - all developed in collaboration with suppliers and our marketing and legal departments.

My portfolio also includes landing pages, short- and long-form descriptions, buyer and user guides, supplier-funded pages and creating legal disclaimers.

I continue to create editorial content and marketing emails for Heavy Music Artwork, interviewing some of the biggest names in rock - in person and remotely. I'm also a photographer for the website.

An intrinsically creative person, I'm highly literate, well-read and experienced in writing music and editing video - all of which influence my creative writing, attention to detail and professional frame of reference.
