About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am applying for the position of Copywriter as, to put it crudely, it is my ideal job. I have strong experience of writing copy for a variety of platforms and audiences and appreciate that, for many, this outlet is their first point of contact with a company. I also have a solid background in typography and branding, something which is vital for an organisation if they are to have a strong marketing output and ensure that their voice and brand values are clearly heard. As someone with a proven track record of successful copywriting campaigns and developing audiences I feel I could take the energy and passion I have for these fields and use it to help strengthen and develop your company's copywriting output.

In my current role as Digital Administrator at Frantic Assembly, I am responsible for representing the organisation online. I manage our website, write the newsletter copy, as I did with my previous role at Maney Publishing, and design the templates for our mailing list of 9,300. This also involves me generating content and ideas, all of which form part of larger marketing plan (which I create on an annual basis). I oversee all of our social media platforms and schedule and create the content for these, whether it is following a particular trend or providing exclusive material from one of our shows. During my time there, our Facebook following has quadrupled and our Twitter following doubled. I also collaborate with external marketing and design teams to ensure that our website and content is as strong as it can possibly be. It is also my responsibility to collate our social media figures, feed these to the rest of the team and use them to then inform our future digital strategies; ensuring that all of our content is not only relevant but exciting for our thousands of followers.

As an English Language and Literature graduate, as well as someone who achieved national awards at both G.C.S.E and A Level standard, I feel I have an excellent grasp of the English language and know how to utilise this when drafting copy. Similarly, as an award-winning writer for a variety of different mediums, I have the skills to write confidently for numerous platforms and agendas and embrace any opportunity where I can implement my own ideas as well as build on existing ones.

Ultimately, I am extremely passionate about copywriting, the power it can have on its audience and how, as various online platforms continuously develop, this is something that will also need to grow and constantly be worked upon. However, I want to be part of a company who not only match my ambitions and high standards but will allow me to become a valued member of their team.
