Dear Sir/Madam,

Upon discovering this vacancy I immediately felt it would be suited to my ambitions and experience. Graphic design has always been an integral part of my life and I aspire to continue to develop and refine my skills throughout my career. At present, I am working with a design and print company in Wigan as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator; however I am looking to work as part of a dedicated team so I may contribute my high standard of work to a professional institute.

After finishing my National Diploma in Graphic Design at Wigan and Leigh College, I undertook a Foundation Degree (HND) at the University of Salford to further develop my knowledge and skill-set. During and following this, I consistently completed freelance work for a vast range of diverse and interesting clients/businesses. This valuable work experience led to my current position at Nation Design.

At present, my main role within the company entails improving the success of client's businesses through marketing and brand awareness. I achieve this through developing their brand and identity using eye catching visual designs in the format of both print and digital.

My work experience has supplied me with valuable and transferable skills specific to the design industry. For example: branding; typography; type manipulation; photography; image manipulation; illustration (hand drawn and digital); print design and web design.

Furthermore, I am completely computer competent and proficient in many digital/web applications and quickly adapt to any new programmes I may encounter. Examples of typical programmes I use on a day-to-day basis are: Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; InDesign and all Microsoft applications. I utilise these programmes mainly through my design work, but also by presenting projects to clients firstly during my education and later in my design career.
