Dear Sir/Madam,

I am responding to your advert for a copy writer, and I believe, as you will see from my attached CV, that I am the right person for this role.

I have much to offer. My grounding in freelance journalism has furnished me not just with excellent written communication skills, but teamwork and independent work abilities also. I have written extensive copy online for the website *, so I can produce work quickly, clearly, and to a template provided by an employer.

My masters degree has given me a profound understanding of the media and of marketing/branding in particular, with a concomitant focus on what makes a successful public relations campaign. I have studied how organisations can maximise their exposure, be this through social media, SOE etc.

I have much editing experience too, having to use my editorial judgement for every academic essay I have written, every piece of online content I have produced, and in a play I co-wrote at university.

Indeed, at university, I studied creative writing, acted in plays and - as mentioned earlier - co-wrote a play, so I am a creative, but disciplined writer.
