Aaron's work
About Aaron
I am a University of Salford graduate awarded with a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours degree in 2013 and Merit in MA Music Composition, 2014. I have recently completed my School Direct PGCE in Music at the University of Cumbria/Haslingden High School. I am also a Composer, brass musician, Musical director (Youth Band), committee member, administrator and librarian at Whitworth Vale and Healey Brass Band.
During my time studying for a PGCE I was in a position of trust this meant that I was responsible for not only the safeguarding of pupils within the school but it also meant that I had to be aware of any additional confidential personal information with regards to all pupils on roll, particularly those of whom I was teaching. As a teacher I was expected to follow inclusion policies in all of my teaching, this involved insuring that pupils were being taught in an equal and positive learning environment. My role as a teacher and band committee member has also led to the organisation of trips, the booking of locations, interaction with internal and external clients. I can't say that I have any experience as a PA, but I do have extensive experience communicating with individuals via my Tesco work, teacher training and brass band commitments. As well as some awareness of what it takes to ensure that an organisation is running at its optimum levels of output.
From September 2007 until February of this year I worked in my local Tesco supermarket. During my time as a Customer Assistant I needed the ability to problem solve and meet the demands of those around me. This would often involve prioritising tasks based on their importance to ensure that more urgent issues are dealt with within a particular time frame. My education and part time work presented opportunities in which I was expected to interact with individuals through verbal and written methods. I had to be able to maintain a positive relationships whilst diplomatically looking to resolve a situation as quickly as possible.
Outside of my education I am a long term supporter of my local brass band; Whitworth Vale & Healey Brass Band. Over the past few year I have beyond my role as a member of the band and I am currently a member of the band committee. My role on the committee has meant that I am able to keep track of a number of different matters and I can also raise important issues and, or suggest ways in which we could resolve an issue. As a committee member I regularly volunteer to undertake tasks on behalf on the committee, my current tasks include the organisation and categorisation of a (sheet music) library consisting of over 2000 pieces of music, management of the organisations social media output and also the registration and maintenance of the bands instruments.
Overall I feel that I have the creativity, organisation abilities, and ambitious drive which could lead to a successful future between us.
