About me
Dear Hiring Manager:
As a self-motivated designer for my own small brand and former graphic knits designer at Abercrombie &
Fitch with experience in apparel design and retail, I felt compelled to apply for the junior design position.
At Abercrombie & Fitch, I developed a keen eye for detail in our elevated product. While in charge of our
online exclusive product for graphic knits, I developed new washes, fabrics, and trims, while working very
closely with our vendors in China and our onsite development team. We reacted quickly to our sales
numbers and if these details were not successful, we gave it our best and moved on. Our technical team was
kept busy as I was always pushing new silhouettes and changes to the fit of our core products. Also, at A&F
I utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on a daily basis and for compelling presentations on runway
trends, market research, and street style trends I used Adobe Indesign. Our team worked translating each
season's design direction from higher up in the company into our own product. We had a vast library of
vintage and current retail samples that we used in order to create a beautiful board that would be our basis
of design.
At Armani Exchange, I was an intern while juggling a full load at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I
worked across all categories including: men's, women's clothing and accessories. There, I partnered directly
with the designers developing the Spring 2013 collection. During my time in this position, I partnered with
the manager of color and concept to lead the product development team in the appropriate direction.
In addition to my work experiences in wovens and knits, my fluency in several languages, including Spanish
and French and some level of Italian, has given me the opportunity to work and travel abroad. I am excited
to be given the opportunity if it is presented to work for such a fashion-driven brand. Furthermore, I believe
that my education and organizational skills will enable me to be an effective employee.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Aaron C. Brown
