About me
Life experiences can change attitudes to design. From my earliest memories, I have always been creative. Interior design to me is more than arbitrary arrangements of colour within a structure. My design
hallmark is steeped in my cultural heritage.
As a British Nigerian, for me bold use of colours, textiles, sounds, even scents of interiors is important. This has been demonstrated in my final year project of a Black Legacy and Cultural Archive of Scotland. Cultural identity cannot be separated from interior design. Throughout my university experience, I have paid homage to my culture through material and colour choices. The same way my heritage shapes my
design practice, corporates and large organisations' brand identity is also shaped by their values. The branding of an interior space reaffirms the organisations' beliefs and value system. The identity of a space, to me, is the experience you want people to feel, and the emotions you want to evoke. I am a designer who fuses a range of styles to create a unique signature. From the transitional to the traditional. For me, design has no limits so my goal as an interior designer is to push traditional assumptions of
what design is and who designers are. My designs should always tell a story.
