Expert in originating and developing brands
Adept in the running of major design projects from concept to production.
With over 20 years major experience in alot of design areas from packaging, literature, corporate identity, branding, stationery, books for adults and for children using licensed art, I/we are keen to bring creativity to design agencies, publishers, marketing and pr companies as well as directly to businesses. I an advanced user of CS6.
Experienced in originating and developing brands,
adept in the running of major design projects from concept to production.
Initiative to operate individually and as part of a team. Excellent knowledge + experience of typography, repro,
colour separation and print pre-production. Highly adept at visualising traditionally and digitally.
I have extensive and wide ranging experience in typography, repro, colour separation and print pre-production and work with the latest design software utilising the full CS6 Suite (Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop and Go Live) as well as Quark Xpress, Freehand.
I worked extensively in the publishing industry for more than 5 years, overseeing a wide range of projects from concept to completion.
My position at Parragon was coming up with innovative, current design for the gifting area of the business. From kids to adults and from sports to cookery subjects, I have been one of the creative minds behind the look and feel of the majority of Parragon's selling success, to a long list of blue chip clients from M&S to Next.
I also designed many book jackets for Parragon.
The work included covers and spread design, layout and artworking of full live titles, as well as text black/co-editioning work and editorial, proofing and indexing services in both adult and children's markets.
I am proud to have worked with Parragon on books about cars, Jesus, birds, football, cookery, cocktails, military battles and DIY.
At WHSmith I created and developed stationery products and packaging designs that were commercial and compelling to the customer, ensuring delivery of design to budget and timescales.
Determined trends and created style guides to direct the creative development of the own-brand offer.
Created supplier briefs, selected creative resource and provided clear art direction.
Ensured design integrity was followed through to final artwork and designs were cost effective and met commercial requirements.
Designed for fashion stationery, packaging and in-store environment and entire ranges of Christmas gift wrap, tags, bags and cards.
Print specs for gift tags, paper, bags, cards and greetings cards included finishes such as flocking, glitter uv, foils and gift roll 1-5c onto foil paper with white masking areas.
Gift cards used photos and vectors sourced from Getty, I-stock and Corbis and illustrations from The bright agency, Advocat and Peagreen.
At Polardreams I worked as a Senior Designer in their London design studio working on packaging, brochures and point-of-sale for 'bath & body' and 'aromatherapy' products for Walmart, BJ's, Sams, Home Depot.
'Bath & body' and toiletry ranges each required bespoke packaging tailored to enhance the product. Finishes, substrates and printing methods varied from range to range.
