About me

Micaela Dawn is a freelance illustrator who works across a variety of genres and mediums. Her main focus is creating bold, colorful works of art that have roots in fantasy and mythology. She also has a passion for developing art that comments on the continued need for diversity while helping empower women and minorities. She is most enthusiastic about cover art for comics and novels, concept art for video games, and illustrations for board games, where she can utilize her distinctive style to tell stories.

Micaela is a graduate of the BDes Visual Communications program at the Alberta University of the Arts with a degree in Visual Communication with a major in Character Design and a minor in Illustration. Her art has also been recognized by organizations like Spectrum Fantastic Art, Infected by Art, and the AUArts Alumni Horizon Award.

A current resident of Drumheller (the Dinosaur capital of the world), Micaela spends her spare time finding inspiration in travel, nature, and food. She regularly attends comic conventions across North America and performs as an improviser with the 4040s Improv Comedy troupe across Canada.
