About me
Living in the Forest of Dean has influenced and expanded my interest beyond my first love The Sea. I grew up living along the south coast including the Isle of Wight then returned to my birth town, Brighton where I gained a BA at the then College of Art Grand Parade. After six years as a soft toy designer working in uk factories I went freelance, TV props and freelance illustration and creative ideas. I have designed a range of children's furniture and various bags for Museums of Wales.
After a serious auto immune liver disease resulting in two liver transplants I had to start all over again in my creative life.
All that resulted in having to rediscover drawing and looking and technique hence my current interest in exploring old carvings from historical times and drawing what I see and discover - getting into the mind of the originator. Fascinating stuff.
I like using micro fine pens but also blunt hard crayons for bolder colour work.
I tend to skip about in my art enjoying whatever catches my eye.
