About me

Hi everyone,

My names Mitch and I'm a 2D animator specialising in Flash, After Effects and Toon Boom based in the West Midlands UK.

I've been animating since around 2006 and I'm a graduate of the Wolverhampton University Animation degree.

Due to my educational background I've had a lot of experience within animation and general media production including camera work, video editing and sound recording.

I'm extremely creative and am always looking for new and imaginative ways to make every project I work on original and eye catching to maximise its potential appeal to it's proposed demographic.

I am a hardworking and enthusiastic team player, and put all my energy into the things that I do. I have excellent organization skills, which have been developed though group projects at university and past tasks at work. In these projects I have demonstrated my ability to manage others, while being able to effectively work in a team environment. I am a very determined person, and this motivates me to excel, and adapt when faced with new challenges and opportunities; I have shown this in both my previous jobs, and my academic career. The ability to adapt quickly to new work environments has shown that I have many transferable skills.

My University education has honed many of my skills which are transferable to numerous business situations.

Skills

Over the last few years I have had a lot of exposure to a number of software packages within animation and general media production. Some examples of work can be found at the following web address: http://www.youtube.com/user/FossilFuelled. I am also currently looking to further develop my knowledge of various coding languages such as AS3, Java, XML and Objective C for their respective uses. Some of the software packages I use on a regular basis are listed below., - Adobe Flash, - Adobe Illustrator, - Adobe After Effects & Adobe Premiere, - Adobe Photoshop, - ToonBoom, - Maya/3DS, - Adobe Soundbooth

Sector Experience

Recruit A Temp, Freelance animator, - I was hired to produce a number of short promotional videos for the company for use on the web and trade shows. I was provided with a soundtrack and voiceover and was given free range of what to do visually. I used Adobe Flash and After Effects to create a number of short thirty second to one minute long animations promoting the companies services to both potential clients as well as employers looking to use agency workers., Sensflex ltd, Freelance Flash developer and Illustrator, - I was commissioned to complete a number of illustrations for an interactive children’s book. I worked from home and reported regularly to my client with updated content as often as needed. To do this I used Adobe Illustrator and Flash to achieve the results the client wanted.
