About me
I am a very dedicated journalist who has worked with a range of media companies both in the United Kingdom and abroad. I currently work as freelance BBC Television producer with BBC World Service Swahili department, and my duties include; Digital production for BBC Swahili Social Media Platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube) and website, Monitor news feeds, including searching social media and engaging with reporters, to gather and evaluate relevant news and information, Gather information, stories and pieces from team members throughout the day, Collaborate with news director to select and prioritize content, Add stories and elements that will make the broadcast more attractive, Select footage and sound bites to include in broadcast to ensure consistency. I can write and speak in English and Swahili fluently. I possess great communication and time keeping skills, I am a very hardworking person, I can work in a team as well as an individual, I am able to work under pressure, and I'm computer literate with Microsoft word, PowerPoint and excel. In 2018 I graduated at university of Sunderland with second class upper division (2:1) after completing a three year Broadcast Journalism degree. I took my primary education in Tanzania which is my birth country. In 2009 I moved to United Kingdom where I took my secondary education all the way until University and I am currently living in London.
