Founders Forum is a private network of the leading digital and technology entrepreneurs, hosting events that bring together the world’s best, brightest and most inspirational digital entrepreneurs.
Founders Forum approached Forth to produce a publication that would celebrate their Ten Year Anniversary as thought-leaders in the European tech scene. The publication needed to not only look back on the previous ten years, but also focus on the future – mapping key trends and opportunities. As well as being beautifully produced, the publication needed to appeal to the heavily tech-conscious audience. Forth used the establish medium of print to create an impressive publication that showcased the best of digital innovation.
Exclusive content written and edited by Forth was complimented by the unique design approach, combining impeccable print production with extra technological features, such as ‘Shazamable’ images that linked readers to videos online via the app (using Shazam’s latest unreleased technology).
The design seamlessly incorporated a technological-based graphic language into the publication, which can be seen in the directional content arrows, the monospace typeface for notes and captions and the bespoke infographics designed by Forth.
Striking photography was incorporated effectively alongside commissioned illustrations with a unique one-line style. This approached created a considered flow of content across the publication, effectively featuring all the hero individuals.
Managing both the editorial and design of the book, Forth created a memorable publication that celebrated the dynamism and vibrancy of tech, while simultaneously becoming a legacy piece for the Founders Forum. Forth interviewed and featured fifty game-changing individuals from Europe’s technology scene, including names like Richard Branson, Martha Lane-Fox, Daniel Ek, Arianna Huffington, Charles Dunstone, and Founders Forum co-founder Brent Hoberman, amongst many others.
Alongside these interviews Forth produced articles focusing on a specific technological theme for each year, ranging from mobile and social media to
e-commerce and artificial intelligence. These pieces were written to not only illustrate the progression within tech over the last ten years, but to unearth new insights into Europe’s tech scene, accomplished through thorough research combined with exclusive top-level interviews.
The design foregrounded the wealth of content, using an accent of fluorescent green across the publication to create a bold and contemporary visual language. Additional touches include the fold-out dustjacket poster, which graphically showcased a ten year timeline of the events and people featured. Fluorescent green was used as background colour, echoing the accents of green within the entire publication.
Forth successfully produced a stand-out celebratory book which firmly positioned Founders Forum as the leading tech-focused organization, in touch with all the upcoming trends and core business opportunities within their sector.
