My name is Dan Tonkin. I am a Royal Television Society Awards Nominee filmmaking graduate of Ealing Studios Met Film School, scriptwriting graduate & cinematography postgraduate of Bournemouth University. I am fluent in writing, directing, producing, production management, camera and video editing. I have previously taught at BFI Film Academy, I regularly mentor higher education students as well as leading many teams across various projects.
Something that I like to think helps me stand out is my award winning interactive film, Survivor - being the world's first interactive narrative film, inspired by Edward Packard (Choose Your Own Adventure author). It collected attention from various production, marketing and gaming companies and gives the viewer a different journey each time and a variety of endings to discover, offering proof of my versatile storytelling and filmmaking techniques whilst having added to my growing list of contacts and resources along the way, I am willing to offer to the right employer.
Across both film and corporate work, my previous clients have included Shanghai Media Group, Disney, Shore Scripts, JP Morgan, BBC, Merlin Entertainment Group. I have had recognitions in Digital Filmmaker Magazine and held a number of scripts reach finalist script finalist positions as well as a number of festival wins. I love the work and the travel and the chance to meet new creatives. To work in a role where my craft is respected I can grow a career with a professional team is exactly what I am after and would love to take any questions you have regarding my CV or showreels below.
