About me
My portfolio is a mixture of graphic design and illustration made of vectors, bright interesting colors, and innovation. The art was created using traditional and nontraditional styles. This is because to be a graphic artist you must be flexible in ideas and communication.
I rely on my empathy and intuition to create my art. My designs are work shopped with the client and/or editor until they can evoke a positive reaction in them. When I brainstorm nothing is off limits. I want to make sure the message and purpose of the design are clear and universally adjustable to different canvases such as billboard ads, t-shirt designs, or packaging design. My favorite designs to make using graphic design software are logos and icons, because they require a lot of brainstorming, which is fun. I sometimes sketch out my ideas in watercolor and pen on paper to get ideas about color and placement. I branch off the idea a client has for their product, and create multiple versions of it in writing. I assess where each idea could go to see what is feasible and determine what gets the point across. Playing with new ideas and their possibilities is nerve-wracking when drawing, but with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop anything is possible. Down the road, what I want and what the client wants from the design comes together as one singular thought that came out of so many different thoughts. I believe my empathy, intuition for design, and classical training in the principles of design contribute to creating as innovation engineering calls it meaningful and memorable ideas.
