About me
My name is Ben Sayers, I am originally from Leeds and I am based in London I am an Editor who is a brilliant story teller and can turn around editors very quickly i can use many different types of soft wear from Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro, after effects and photoshop, Avid Media Composer and DaVinchi Resolve.
I been working as an Editor on The Olivier Awards 2017, Christmas Nationwide, using both Avid, Adobe and DaVinci resolve I have also worked as an assistant on What Britain Earns, What Britain Buys, Kinky Britain, Who's Afraid of Conceptual art
I have recently finished working as one of the editors on this year's Olivier Awards 2017, working here I worked on many different videos including the partnership video, interviews with the presenter's nominees a video based on the foundry where the Oliver awards are made and the be inspired champions, this content was produced for all social media content and for broadcast on ITV. I also have edited together a feature length documentary film called Christmas Nationwide which was directed by Chris Hees and produced by Peter Weil, this was a really interesting project to be a part of and had everything from singing to interviews with the likes of David Suchet, Christmas Nationwide was broadcast on Christmas day unifying all the local TV stations across the UK. Alongside this, I have also edited Music Videos, and short films one of the shorts has been played at 50 film festivals and picked up 17 awards (In the Shadow of the mountain) while Autonomy is about to have its premiere at Cann's film festival.
While working as an Editor I also got the opportunity to use DaVinchi Resolve, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects and Avid Pro-tools. Using After Effects and Photoshop I created effects and graphics. Using DaVinchi resolve I Colour graded different footage which was multiple codecs and different cameras. I also used Adobe Audition to mix the audio for the final exports. Which were delivered for both broadcast specs and for digital online specs.
Prior to working as an Editor. I have worked freelance for Vice and worked as an Edit Assistant/ taster tape editor for Sundog Pictures and as an Edit Assistant for Envy Post Production.
I have experience as both a Creative Technical Editor and an Assistant Editor and throughout my time have developed handy workflows for which I have been able to create established naming conventions, Codec's, editing workflows tapeless Camera workflows Ingest workflows, syncing workflows and finishing workflows along with a handy Deliverables list.
