About me
ARCHÄOLOGISCHE ILLUSTRATIONEN - is the Berlin-based creative network for visualisations in culture & science. The two minds behind the label are Anja Karlsen and Cornelia Golze.
We are archaeologists and have specialised in the creation of scientific illustrations [find drawings, infographics, reconstructions, animations & digitisations]. Depending on the task and size of the project, we work with a network of other specialists, such as 3D artists.
We met on a course in archaeological drawing at the Free University of Berlin and quickly realised that we could work well together. On this basis we have been working successfully with universities, museums and heritage organisations for many years. We help to present research results in a convincing way and develop attractive designs.
As well as traditional commissions, we also offer drawing courses. At the moment only at universities, but this will be expanded in the future.
What started out as archaeological work has now expanded to include tourist products, wine labels, participation in AR productions and the design of individual prints. When designing, we prefer to combine analogue and digital techniques. This results in daily work on paper and in the standard Adobe programmes.
We mainly work from our own desks, but can sometimes be away for two weeks for some jobs. In addition to our paid work, we are always working on new ideas and our own creative projects.
