About me

My name is Afsun Alamyar, and I am originally from Afghanistan. Since childhood, the world of colors, clothing, and fashion has felt like a different universe to me. But my journey has never been easy. I never had the chance to study fashion design formally or access professional tools to create my ideas. I have not even studied traditional drawing. What I have is a deep passion and love for design. I design straight from the heart, without any academic training. This passion alone has pushed me to create my sketches by hand, in the simplest way possible.

For me, design is not just about creating clothes or accessories. It is my language to express what I feel and what I see around me. I draw inspiration from real life and from people who live with courage and hope in the middle of difficulties: women fighting for freedom and dignity, children growing up in unfair situations, people with disabilities, and all those whose voices are rarely heard. I am also inspired by the fight for animal rights, by nature itself, and by the strength of the trans and LGBTQ+ community standing up for their identity. Through fashion, I want to carry their voices into the world — voices that may not be heard otherwise, but can reach hearts through the art of design.

I love creating designs across many areas of fashion: from everyday wear to sportswear, from womenswear and menswear to lingerie, bags, shoes, belts, ties, and even jewelry. What matters most to me is that my designs are not only creative and unique, but also make people feel good. For me, fashion is not only about appearance — it is about giving people comfort, confidence, and joy when they wear something.

A key part of my work is always considering what people truly want and what kind of clothing makes them feel comfortable. At the same time, I bring my own creativity and boldness into every design, to make them distinctive and memorable.

Although I have not yet had the chance to produce my designs professionally, I believe strongly that my dreams can become reality with the right collaboration and support. My work has already caught the attention of international platforms like Flying Solo, who invited me to participate in Milan Fashion Week. Unfortunately, due to financial limitations and lack of production resources, I could not take part. But this invitation itself proved that my ideas have the potential to stand on an international stage.

My long-term dream is to eventually create my own independent brand. But on the way to this goal, I am eager to collaborate with international brands and platforms. I want to work with brands that value not only fashion but also its power to create social impact. I believe my designs can help brands be seen — just as collaborating with them can help me be seen.

At the moment, my only option is to work remotely. Because of my life circumstances, I cannot produce collections or attend events in person yet. But I am deeply hopeful that I can contribute my creativity to European and global brands online. Even if it starts without payment, the most important thing for me now is to be seen, to share my vision, and to prove my talent.

I remain hopeful about the future. I believe that one day I will overcome these limitations and take my place in the fashion world. But for now, what I have is passion, creativity, and love for design — and I trust that this love is strong enough to carry me through any challenge.
