I was commissioned by The Planner magazine to illustrate an article discussing decision-making for land use. Louise Brooke-Smith argues that although the current system claims to be democratic, it is not a transparent or logical process. It can be a struggle to ensure that enough homes are built and people suffer as a result of local pressure groups or politicians overruling professional recommendations.
