The article discussed how cities have tried to replicate the technology and innovation success of Silicon Valley without having the same "cluster" infrastructure (elements such as universities, investment and people.) This has led to difficulties when trying to develop industry at a rapid pace. The conclusion is that cities should do things their way and focus on matching their existing skills to a more digital globalised economy.
